Arguments
A clash of words is never a way to communicate feelings. You're shouting, your opponent is shouting, the essence of the banter is being forfeited as it turns sharply from, trying to create an understanding, to seeing who wins the argument, who has the more silencing points, the louder voice, the bouncier charisma.
Here, each party is practically trying to shove their own opinions down the other person's throat, hereby rendering the other's as irrelevant. Here the goal is to have been the one who had won the argument and I tell you, no one really likes being called a loser...so it's an endless infinitum of opposing conduct.
Argument are undeniably an important part of life because, the human mind is so structured in such a way that it is prone to interpretation of a single concept or an event into a multitude of opinions. Arguments can range from the mightiest of subjects e.g Issues of Religion; to the minute of things e.g simple misunderstanding between two children.
Whatever the case maybe, the same principle of conduct still applies. Most successful arguments quite suprisingly do not contain as much noise as you'd expect. You want to win your opponent to your school of thought, first you have to hear him out, everything he has to say, everything he believes and why. This tries to create the notion that even though you don't share the same believes, that you respect the fact that he has an opinion of his own. In general, it puts him at ease and he'd be twice as willing to hear what you have to say given you'd had respected and not disregarded his own opinion.
Secondly, seeing as you've put your opponent in a state of calm, and so long as you're well equipped with sufficient points and prove to back them up, you're better inclined towards trying to convince your opponent into your school of thought.
So think back to the last argument you had. Was the argument in your favour? Did you succeed in convincing the opposing view to your school of thought? Or did you scream the loudest and was convinced that you had won the argument? If you'd succeeded in making the person see reasons from your P.O.V, then you had most definitely had a successful argument.
