World Women's Day

        

         Every 8th of March, the world undeniably celebrates women. Now I'm not going to base this article on who a woman truly is, what she does, how she does what she does, and what makes her truly unique, it's something we are already familiar with.

        Women are jewels whose full potential are only coming into full play in recent times. The journey for liberation had been a long and rocky one and although we're still fighting because we still have a journey ahead of us, we just can't stop to appreciate all the women who had in one way or another contributed to the success so far of this journey.

        In the same vain, I'm dedicating this poem to all the women out there, not just to appreciate you but to remind you to keep pushing. Women's day should be a day to look back and count all the growth and achievements in the span of a year.

THE GIRL BEGOT THE WOMAN:

Waking up to the alive

Gaining form to fit into the archive
She'd grown up in an institution
Discovering her whole essence moulded into a restitution

Seeing the constant, the fixed and the abound
Grasping hold of that which her life would someday revolve around
The girl had become inflicted with the tag 'Female'
Mastering it's every length, breath and detail

Having glanced at the colors of the rainbow
Still in oblivion as to the white behind that bow
The woman had stood firmly in the box she'd been placed
Becoming one with that with which she'd been named

Sprouting from the mounds of the womb something new
Waking up to the elegant drop of the morning dew
Again and again, the whole cycle is reborn
For the girl would someday beget the woman.

This poem tries to point out that liberation for females begins with the mind. It's very fine that some women are striving for something worth all the energy, something that's been darkly tagged 'Feminism'. However, I refuse to be tagged but I'm one who believes in equal opportunities for both the male and the female specie. The world has evolved in such a way that some archaic mentality has to be let go off of. If you can develop your community, develop your country, upgrade your house, update the apps on your phone, why then do you fail to update your mind that lies inside of you?

        In a world rapidly evolving like the one we both exist in, physical strength and stance is no longer a sole determinant of relevance or importance. Innovation, creativity, talents, technology thrives in his mordern era.
         Dear woman, in case you haven't realised, you have all those embedded inside of you. Break out of that box, the box that had been used to cage your mind. Let it wander and return, so you can see for yourself just how much you are capable of. Break out of your mind, so you can teach your children, and so that they could teach their children, and so their children could teach the future, that WOMEN are not secondary beings, they are a whole other creation.
