Life Like a Game Of Bounce

Every Nigerian man and woman, lady and gentleman, girl and boy, children and toddler that had been in existence a decade ago must be quite familiar with the Nokia phone popularly referred to as 'Nokia Torchlight' which was the first 'smart' phone to have existed then. If that be the case, then one must be quite familiar with the few application softwares it embodied, few of them which include; Snake Xlevia, Football and Bounce game. Today our interest, curiosity and growth is going to centre around that game of Bounce. People have tried in the past to define or in more precise words, 'limit' life to a particular concept and have failed terribly.  Life is as broad as it is diverse. It is so vast that no single illustration can embody exactly what it is. However, most times we just can't fail to liken life to some guiding concepts. These concepts do not encover all life entails,  rather they posit lessons and guiding principles to guide you through the process...

World Women's Day

Image
Every 8th of March, the world undeniably celebrates women. Now I'm not going to base this article on who a woman truly is, what she does, how she does what she does, and what makes her truly unique, it's something we are already familiar with.         Women are jewels whose full potential are only coming into full play in recent times. The journey for liberation had been a long and rocky one and although we're still fighting because we still have a journey ahead of us, we just can't stop to appreciate all the women who had in one way or another contributed to the success so far of this journey.         In the same vain, I'm dedicating this poem to all the women out there, not just to appreciate you but to remind you to keep pushing. Women's day should be a day to look back and count all the growth and achievements in the span o...

Arguments

Image
A clash of words is never a way to communicate feelings. You're shouting, your opponent is shouting, the essence of the banter is being forfeited as it turns sharply from, trying to create an understanding, to seeing who wins the argument, who has the more silencing points, the louder voice, the bouncier charisma. Here, each party is practically trying to shove their own opinions down the other person's throat, hereby rendering the other's as irrelevant. Here the goal is to have been the one who had won the argument and I tell you, no one really likes being called a loser...so it's an endless infinitum of opposing conduct. Argument are undeniably an important part of life because, the human mind is so structured in such a way that it is prone to interpretation of a single concept or an event into a multitude of opinions. Arguments can range from the mightiest of subjects e.g Issues of Religion; to the minute of things e.g simple misunderstanding between two children....

Still on the issue of love:

Still on the issue of love: We live in a society where something for something is the order of the day. We give to take. We loved to be appreciated. We bless to be rewarded. In general, we're living in the wrong idea, following the wrong paths and making the wrong decisions. We're being reminded to show unconditional love. A love that is given without any conditions. A love that is selfless, and sacrificial. Here the model that is being adopted is 'Something for Nothing'. We're being reminded that, it is the soul that goes up to meet God in the end and not the body. Hence we're being urged to live a life that is directed towards perfection of the soul. The soul is perfected in the spirit. That is the manifestation of God through the holy spirit. And in a platform of love, the spirit dwells. Because where there is love, there dwells God. Living in Christ, entails him living in us, our soul begins to be perfected. The soul which is supposed to be our primary co...

Love- the greatest law.

The greatest law of them all: Love your neighbour just as I have loved you The message for today is love. 'Love your neighbour as you love yourself' has been described as the Jewish law of love. However we are being told that, there exist a greater love: the Christian love; the love of your neighbour just as Jesus had loved you. That is the greatest love of all. The love he showed when he shed his blood for all of humanity. That is the love that is being talked about today. It is known as 'Unconditional love' for your neighbour, love that is not partial, love that appeals to person and not name. Most of we Christians are guilty of this. It is very evident in our day to day activities; it shows in the way we greet probably, the head of a booming organisation as opposed to the way we'd greet say a cleaner, it is obvious in the way we'd rather be of help to someone we know we can gain from, as to someone who really needs our help.  Be reminded that on the cross,...

Talents

Image
And with heavy consecutive rhythmic thuds, my heart beat; Silently yet so loudly; The world around me was slowly tuning out; Its like people were there but they weren't; But for my dealings, every other thing dimmed to a blur; And with each search movement my heart skipped two beats; I'm searching a bit slowly; Ten bits anxiously; For the horror of not finding; And as I make my way to the very last place there is to search; With a very heavy and palpitating heart... With anxiousness at its tip.... Behold! There lies the lost! That ecstatic feeling, I now feel; I'm happy now, so happy; When it was there, it seemed like nothing; Now I just lost and found it, it seems like gold. But then in ten minutes, everything is back to normal; The not caring, the indifferent feeling... Have my experience taught me anything? The answer is not slightly. My point? You don't know the value of what you have until you lose it. As humans, we enjoy certain privileges, w...

Good things in life comes in three's

I just wanna give you guys three amazing tips I recently just discovered to help you through life # LEARN TO BE YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES# Most us are usually not ourselves at most times. You can tell that when you find it difficult to do majority of the things you do alone or with family, out in public. It kind of limits your person and makes you unfree, and eventually insecure. Just know that in life, we are free to express ourselves the exact way we feel. But sometimes we feel we gotta act perfect and hence we feel conscious of every action we take, becoming jittery and eventually low self esteemed. My dears, you don't have to be perfect in your actions! You don't have to act perfect! Act natural, act you. Whatever you would do on a personal base should be your line of action on a daily. Be free, let the world see you for who you truly are. Everyone is not meant to like you. If your actions are pleasing to them, then so be it. If not, then life  goes on. Don't be afraid t...
